Campgrounds. The 1,000 acres (4.0 km 2 ) Keowee-Toxaway State Park was created by a partnership between Duke Energy and the state of South Carolina. South Carolina Highway 11 (SC 11), also known as the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, is a 119.850-mile (192.880 km) state highway through the far northern part of the U.S. state of South Carolina, following the southernmost peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The route is surrounded by peach orchards, quaint villages, and parks.
Two half-mile trails are available for hiking. The park has a number of equestrian facilities including equestrian camping areas, a show ring, stables, and an equestrian group area. There are seven miles of equestrian trails and equestrians are also allowed to ride on the Loop Road which is open to vehicle traffic.
Camping. The campground has 140 standard sites with individual water and electrical hookups and an additional 138 sites with full hookup. All sites are convenient to hot showers, restrooms and laundromat facilities. All sites also have complimentary wi-fi access. The main campground is located approximately 300 yards from the beach.
