Rockefeller, 1979 Nkisi or Nkishi (plural varies: minkisi , mikisi , zinkisi , or nkisi ) are spirits or an object that a spirit inhabits .
Because they are aggressive, many nkondi with human figures are carved with their hands raised, sometimes bearing weapons.
