Rhoda is an American sitcom television series created by James L. Brooks and Allan Burns starring Valerie Harper that originally aired on CBS for five seasons from September 9, 1974, to May 18, 1979. [1]
She co-starred there from 1970 to 1974, then starred in the spinoff series Rhoda (CBS 1974–1978) in which her character returned to New York City. She won four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for her work as Rhoda Morgenstern. The first season of Rhoda was released on DVD on April 21, 2009 by Shout! Factory. [19]
Season 5 of Rhoda consisted of 13 half-hour episodes. The show moved to Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. The footage during the opening and closing credits remained the same as in Season 4, however, with a different arrangement of the theme song. Groh starred in his own series, opposite Joan Hackett, in the short-lived Another Day, in the spring of 1978 and went on to make his Broadway theatre debut in Neil Simon's Chapter Two. From 1983 to 1985, Groh played D.L. Brock in the ABC soap opera General Hospital , leaving the show to appear in the off Broadway play Be Happy for Me (1986).
