The 2024–25 RFU Championship is the sixteenth season of the RFU Championship, the professional second tier of rugby union in England. It features twelve English teams. Ealing Trailfinders are the reigning champions, having been refused promotion to the Premiership due to failing to meet minimum standards.

The format will involve 20 teams – all 10 clubs from the 2024–25 Premiership Rugby and 10 out of 12 clubs from the 2024–25 RFU Championship. The 20 teams will be divided into 5 regional pools, each made up of 4 teams, with each side playing 6 games (3 home, 3 away).
The first step was to reduce the Championship from 14 clubs to 13 at the end of the 2024 season. This was achieved by the bottom two clubs being relegated to League 1 but only the League 1 champions being promoted. The team finishing third-bottom in 2024 played the team winning the League 1 play-offs for the 13th spot in the 2025 Championship. [5]
