Ghost Hunters premiered in 2004 on Sci Fi (later Syfy) [2] [3] Sci Fi broadened into other paranormal shows, including Destination Truth. Ghost Adventures, another ghost-hunting program, which premiered on the Discovery Networks-owned Travel Channel in 2008, was the successor to a documentary film of the same name that aired on Sci Fi in 2007.
Ghost Hunters International makes their way to La Falda, Argentina to uncover the ghostly mysteries of The Eden Hotel, a 19th century luxury resort which once welcomed the rich and the famous. The GHI team then ventures to Junee, Australia to visit the Monte Cristo Homestead, built in 1884 as a Victorian manor for a wealthy family.
Ghost Hunters Academy is a paranormal reality television series that premiered on November 11, 2009, on the Syfy channel. The program was the third spin-off series based on Ghost Hunters (after Ghost Hunters International and UFO Hunters ).
Zaffis was also in two episodes of A Haunting ("The Possessed" and "Ghost Hunter") where the main characters of both episodes are possessed by harmful demons. In the 2008 docudrama The Possessed, he plays himself as the demonologist. [8] Zaffis also appeared and was interviewed in the 2009 Ghost Adventures episode at the Remington Arms factory.
When Hawes was twenty-two, he went on to found TAPS/The Atlantic Paranormal Society and co-create the major television hit Ghost Hunters, which became the flagship show of the Syfy Channel and made it one of the top watched channels on cable. The show's initial run ended in 2016, although it was eventually revived for a 12th season in 2019.
