Welcome to the City of Rio Hondo! In 1910 this small town was founded by J.R George. The name Rio Hondo means "Deep River" which represents the settlement on the Arroyo Colorado. Our city is defined less by boundaries on a map than by the sense of shared values our residents cherish.
