The Blue Anchor is a pub at 13 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, London, that dates from 1722. The pub was first licensed on 9 June 1722 to a Mr. John Savery, [ 1 ] [ 2 ] originally known as the Blew Anchor and Washhouses .
History. It is a long low building with walls and low timber beams dated to 1380, with a thatched roof. [1] The inn was used as a tobacco drying shed during the smuggling days. [2] Until 1941 the Blue Anchor belonged to the Fonmon Estate. Bill Coleman became landlord and then passed it on to his son, John.
