Carol Dianne Briggs Martin is an American computer scientist, former Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at George Washington University [1] and first Senior Faculty Fellow of the North Carolina (NC) Study Center.
Martin was born in Manhattan to Dean Martin and his first wife, Elizabeth Anne "Betty" McDonald. She moved to Beverly Hills, California, with her family by the age of one. She later went to live with her father and his second wife, Jeanne Biegger.
Martin died of a heart attack at her home in Toronto on December 20, 2004. [7]Osgoode Hall established an annual Dianne Martin Medal for Social Justice Through Law award, which is granted to "a member of the Canadian legal community who has exemplified Dianne Martin’s commitment to law as an instrument for achieving social justice and fairness."
