Allegheny County (/ ˌ æ l ɪ ˈ ɡ eɪ n i / AL-ig-AY-nee) is a county in Pennsylvania, United States.As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,250,578, making it the state's second-most populous county, after Philadelphia County.
County residents voted to fund the project in May 1965, and the first 15-member board of trustees was sworn in that December. [1] The college opened Boyce Campus, in Monroeville, and Allegheny Campus, on Pittsburgh's North Side, in 1966. The following year, South Campus was opened; North Campus opened in 1972.
