Re: 2007 Kawasaki ultra lx pros & cons I have one, bought it for the gf so although my ride time on it is much less, I have an opinion. It's a great ski. It's smooth, has linear power, immediate hookup and acceleration with no cavitation, and comes propped correctly from the factory. It's handling is excellent and super stable.

got a ultra lx that has no codes! The ski will not idle and it only runs half throttle. When first taking off it will hit 8k for a second or two then drops to 4500-5000.... dealership said if there is no code then it would be a waste of time to hook his scanner to it..
I purchased a 2007 Kawasaki Ultra LX in July of '07. I've had problems since day 1. (not idling properly, stalling other issues). Bought it at Long Island Kawasaki in Hicksville, NY (Michael Peck). I brought it in for service multiple times for weeks at a time finally i had enough and brought it down to Crazy Freddy Motorsport's in Massapequa NY.
Re: Ultra LX vs. STX-15f The LX will give a smoother ride in choppy conditions and have slightly better range than the 15F. The 15F will have slightly better acceleration and a few mph on top end (lighter by 100 lbs. or so and less hull in the water). The LX has more storage and adjustable handle bar angles.

Customer: I have a 2008 kawasaki ultra lx 20 hours on it. Used only in fresh water from day 1 . Memorial day was used, ran perfect. Used today same batch of fuel then a new batch both had same issue. Runs alittle rough at idle.
I took the Ultra out of storage, summerized (new plugs,oil change, pump bearing oil change, new gas, seafoam, etc), and cruised leisurely for about an hour with no problems. When I asked for full power, however, the engine bogged down (like a gas trimmer with choke on). I could not get past the 50% boost mark, +/-5500 rpm.
