If the new outlook can't show your previous calendar, your account should not be a Microsoft outlook.com account, because when switching from classic outlook to the new outlook, you can't synchronize the calendar and contacts if it's a non-outlook account or a non-Exchange protocol account (Exchange Protocol is synchronizing all information).
