The Central Connecticut Conference or (CCC) went through major expansion in 2009 with a total of 32 schools participating in the conference. [2] In the 2015–16 school year, Avon High School joined the CCC.
In 1992 Capital merged with Hartford State Technical College to become Capital Community-Technical College in a state-mandated consolidation. In 2000, the college's name was changed to Capital Community College. The college is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education and enrolled 3,302 students in fall 2016. [1]
In July 1999 Enfield High school a founding member of the CCC Conference in 1984, applied to join the NCCC conference. In 2016 Enfield would leave the NCCC conference and rejoin the CCC Conference as a result of its merger with Enrico Fermi High School. [1] Also in 1999 E.O. Smith High school would join the CCC due to increasing enrollment.
2023 – Salve Regina left the CCC (and CCC Football) to join the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) after the 2022–23 academic year. 2023 – The University of Hartford joined the CCC in the 2023–24 academic year. 2023 – Johnson & Wales (RI) will join the CCC as soon as the 2025–26 academic year. The Central Connecticut–Hartford rivalry was the collegiate athletics rivalry between the Central Connecticut (CCSU) Blue Devils sports teams of Central Connecticut State University and Hartford Hawks sports teams of the University of Hartford. Unlike most in-state rivalries, Hartford and CCSU compete in different conferences.
Maloney High School is part of the Central Connecticut Conference (CCC) which features member schools in the Greater Hartford region of Connecticut, United States.. The athletic program also has produced Jonathan Jenkins, a defensive lineman currently playing professionally for the Las Vegas Raiders.
