The City of Boyd is a charming rural community in Wise County, Texas, located just 35 miles northwest of Fort Worth and 15 miles from Decatur and Bridgeport. With great schools a laid back atmosphere and only minutes from the Metroplex, it is a great place to live and raise a family.
Boyd City Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Where: Boyd Community Center - 420 E. Morton Avenue. Agendas: Upcoming meeting dates can be found on the website calendar and agendas are posted 72 hours prior to the meeting on the website and outside the main entrance door at City Hall.

The City of Boyd is a Type A general law municipality. The governing body, known as the City Council, consists of a mayor and five council members, who are elected at large and also act as the Planning and Zoning Board.

Boyd is on State Highway 114 seven miles south of Decatur in southern Wise County. In the early 1890s farmers settled at the site, in the curve of the North Fork of the Trinity River. The community was originally referred to as Greasy Bend because the area was used to fatten hogs.
