Charles B. Mitchell was born in Kentucky on April 20, 1842. [1] [2] He was the son of Dr. Charles G. Mitchell, a physician and plantation owner. [2] In his youth, Charles B. Mitchell moved with his parents to Pontotoc County, Mississippi, where his father owned a plantation. [2] Mitchell attended a college in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. [2]
Eupora was established in 1889 by European Americans on a spur track of the Georgia Pacific Railway.While there had been agricultural development prior to this in the county, the railroad stimulated trade and businesses.
Eudora is a census-designated place and unincorporated community located in southwestern DeSoto County, Mississippi, United States, approximately 25 miles (40 km) south of Memphis, Tennessee. The intersection of Mississippi Highway 301 and old Mississippi Highway 304 has been the traditional heart of Eudora for decades.
