SeaWorld San Antonio is a 416-acre (168 ha) marine mammal park, oceanarium and animal theme park in the Westover Hills District of San Antonio, Texas, on the city's west side. It is the largest of the three parks in the SeaWorld chain owned and operated by United Parks & Resorts .

Animals and marine life from Sea-Arama were relocated to SeaWorld San Antonio and similar parks in the area. After several plans to revitalize the space failed to come to fruition, the park was torn down in 2006. [1] [2] In 2008, the former site of Sea-Arama was used to provide a temporary debris holding station after Hurricane Ike. [3]

John Hargrove is a former senior killer whale trainer for SeaWorld and supervisor of killer whale training at Marineland of Antibes in France. Hargrove appeared in the 2013 documentary Blackfish, wrote a book about his experiences in Beneath The Surface, and has campaigned in support of legislation in California and New York to end the practice of keeping killer whales in captivity.
SeaWorld staff initially indicated that Submarine Quest had been temporarily closed for maintenance, but by May 2019, references to the ride had been removed from SeaWorld's maps and website.
