The 2024 Players Championship was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour, held at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida from March 14–17. Officially, it was the 50th edition of The Players Championship tournament.
It is held at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Floria, home of The Players Championship on the PGA Tour. The field is made up of the top 58 boys on the AJGA Rankings, plus international invitees. In 2023, Miles Russell, at 14 years old, became the youngest champion in the event's history. [2]
2002: Playing for the first time ever in The Players Championship, Craig Perks finishes eagle-birdie-par to win by two shots over Stephen Ames. It is the only PGA Tour win for Perks. In 1987, Sawgrass hosted the Senior Tournament Players Championship in mid-June, which was won by Gary Player. The par-72 course was set at 6,636 yards (6,068 m) and the winner's share was $60,000. [3] Player sank a seven-foot (2.1 m) birdie putt on the final green to win by a stroke at 280 (−8). [4]
