The Highland Cattle Club of Finland was founded in 1997. Their studbooks show importation of Highland cattle breeding stock to Finland, dating back to 1884. The Finnish club states that in 2016, there were 13 000 Highland cattle in Finland. [18]
The Holstein Association USA is the world's largest dairy breed association. With over 22 million registered Holstein Friesian cattle, the association was established in 1885 as the Holstein–Friesian Association of America, a merger of several Friesian breeder associations. In 1875 together with his father and uncle formed the Hoosier Boy Cultivator Company. In 1879, the company name was changed to Reeves & Company (abbreviated Reeves & Co.). [ 1 ] Reeves went on to design and manufacture threshers, straw stackers, separators, corn shellers and clover hullers, holding more than 50 patents for the same.
Luing cattle (pronounced ling cattle) are a beef breed developed on the island of Luing in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland [1] by the Cadzow brothers in 1947. It was formed by first crossbreeding Beef Shorthorn with Highland cattle and then breeding the resulting progeny with Beef Shorthorns to produce an animal three quarters Beef Shorthorn, one quarter Highland.

None really stuck until a group—referred to by many different names, but most commonly known as the Eastern Montana Stockgrowers Association—was formed in 1883. Another group, known as the Montana Stockgrowers Association, reorganized and held its first meeting in July 1884 in Helena. The groups eventually merged in 1885.
