State Route 55 (SR 55) is a 58.758-mile-long (94.562 km) state highway in the southern part of the U.S. state of Alabama.The southern terminus of the highway is at the Florida state line, where the highway continues as Florida State Road 85 (SR 85).

Interstate 55 (I-55) is a major Interstate Highway in the central United States. As with most primary Interstates that end in a five, it is a major cross-country, north–south route, connecting the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes .
