Located on north campus between Woody Hayes Drive and Lane Avenue, the 13,276-seat arena was built in 1956. During the time it was the home court of the Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team, it saw the Buckeyes win the 1960 National Championship and five straight Big Ten titles from 1960 to 1964 under coach Fred Taylor.
The stadium is home to the Ohio State Buckeyes baseball team of the Big Ten Conference and is named for William C. "Bill" Davis, a businessman and Ohio State alumnus. The stadium has a capacity of 4,450 [ 3 ] and had a record attendance of 5,360, versus the Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team on May 18, 2002. [ 1 ]

The Buckeyes baseball team was the first Ohio State sports team. The team is currently coached by Greg Beals and play their home games at Bill Davis Stadium , which opened in 1997. Going into the 2008 season the Buckeyes all-time record is 2228–1427–38.
