James Edmund Caan (/ k ɑː n / KAHN; March 26, 1940 – July 6, 2022) was an American actor.He came to prominence playing Sonny Corleone in The Godfather (1972) – a performance that earned him Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actor.
They married in 1952 and remained together until her death in 1975. They had a daughter, Kathleen Buttram, nicknamed Kerry. Ryan died November 4, 1975, in the Motion Picture Hospital in Woodland Hills, California from lung disease. She was 54 years old. [1] Their daughter Kerry Buttram-Galgano died of cancer in 2007.
