The lake feeds Galveston Bay. It is bordered by Houston (Clear Lake City), Pasadena, League City, Clear Lake Shores, Taylor Lake Village, Seabrook and El Lago, Texas. NASA's Johnson Space Center lies near its shores. The lake is a major recreation center and home to one of the largest concentrations of recreational boats and marinas in the nation.
Seabrook is located on Galveston Bay at Clear Lake, southeast of Houston near Pasadena and La Porte. According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 21.3 square miles (55.1 km 2 ), of which 5.3 square miles (13.8 km 2 ) is land and 15.9 square miles (41.3 km 2 ), or 74.97%, is water.
Clear Lake, or the Clear Lake Area, is a region in parts of Harris and Galveston County in Texas, United States. It is part of the Galveston Bay Area , which itself is a section of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area.
The Boardwalk is built entirely along the shores of Galveston Bay and Clear Lake. The complex is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc., and has restaurants, rides, midway games, a boutique hotel, a charter yacht, a 400-slip marina and shops. There is no charge to walk on the boardwalk. Tickets are sold for rides.

By the 1970s Houston had become one of the nation's largest cities, and its expansion connected it with the bay communities.
Lakewood Yacht Club is a yacht club located in Seabrook, Texas, and is a member of the Gulf Yachting Association. The club sits on 38 acres of land, housing six sheds and seven docks. The facilities include over 250 covered slips for power boats and there are an additional 200+ open slips on fixed and floating piers.
The Bayport Container Terminal, or simply the Bayport Terminal, is a major deep water port in the Greater Houston area in Texas (United States).This relatively new terminal, part of the Port of Houston, is designed to handle standardized cargo containers and offload the nearby Barbours Cut Terminal, which has no further room for expansion.
