The M. E. Rinker Sr. School of Construction Management at the University of Florida prepares graduates for careers in the construction industry.As part of the university's College of Design, Construction, and Planning, the school's name was officially changed from the M. E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction to the M. E. Rinker Sr. School of Construction Management in 2014.
Most core curriculum classes, 43 majors, and 47 minors are part of the college. The university reports that more than 700 faculty members teach at least 35,000 students each year, with more than 11,000 undergraduates pursuing a degree from the college and 1,500 graduate students are also attaining graduate degrees in the college. The University of Florida is a college-sponsor of the National Merit Scholarship Program and sponsored 288 Merit Scholarship awards in 2020. In the 2020–2021 academic year, 342 freshman students were National Merit Scholars. [72] The university is need-blind for domestic applicants. [73]
The college has more than 6,900 students (Fall 2021), including more than 2,400 graduate students. A majority are women, 26% are underrepresented minorities and 8% are international students. In addition to the Gainesville campus programs, the college offers baccalaureate degrees online and at four UF/IFAS research and education centers.
