Hell (French: L'enfer) is a French film, released in 2005 and directed by Danis Tanović. It is based on a script originally drafted by Krzysztof Kieślowski and Krzysztof Piesiewicz, which was meant to be the second film in a trilogy with the titles Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. The script was finished by Piesiewicz after Kieślowski died in 1996.
The film is about young Dr. Eric Robinson (played by Daniel Kruse), who becomes obsessed with the idea of an afterlife that leads all people to heaven. Through a series of events that leads to his own death, he finds out that hell is a very real place for those who have rejected the grace and love of Jesus Christ. [1]
The allegory can be summarized as follows: In each location, the inhabitants are given access to food, but the utensils are too unwieldy to serve oneself with. In hell, the people cannot cooperate, and consequently starve. In heaven, the diners feed one another across the table and are sated. The story can encourage people to be kind to each other.
