Youngstown State University (YSU or Youngstown State) is a public university in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1908 and is the easternmost member of the University System of Ohio. [4] The university is composed of six undergraduate colleges and a graduate college.
Alfred L. Bright (January 9, 1940 – October 28, 2019) was an American artist and art educator. He became "the first African American full-time faculty member" at his alma mater, Youngstown State University, [1] and he was the founder and director of its Africana Studies program from 1970 to 1987. [2]
