The Fairfield Stags softball team competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I. The Stags play their home games at Alumni Softball Field on the campus of Fairfield University. The team won the MAAC Regular Season Title in 2002, 2003 and 2004. They won the MAAC tournament and advanced to the NCAA tournament in 2015 and 2017.
With a win at Stetson this past Friday, Feb. 16, Fairfield Softball Head Coach Julie Brzezinski earned her 900th career victory. Coach Brzezinski had been the leader of the Stags for 26 seasons, in addition to eight prior years as the head coach at Campbell University.
