It has been noted for depicting the death of Ertuğrul Bey , the eponymous character in the series' predecessor, Diriliş: Ertuğrul (2014–2019).
The story follows the lives of the people of Osman, who have grown up and moved on to adulthood. Osman Bey and Malhun Hatun are now living in a palace in Yenışehir, where they face challenges from Şanli Germıyanoğlu Yakup Bey, the new self-proclaimed Sultan of Turkmen after Sultan Mesud was poisoned.
Aya Nikola is sent by the Byzantine Emperor, Andronikos II to become the new Tekfur of İnegöl followed by Ertuğrul's return in the tribe. Meanwhile, Yavlak Arslan, the new Uç Bey, seeks to create his own state and sees Osman as an obstacle, later on they unite against the new threat created by the new Ilkhan of the Ilkhanate, who allies with Nikola against the Turks of Anatolia.
The season was well received in Turkey. In December 2019, Kuruluş: Osman attracted a record viewership on ATV, in its fourth weekend of broadcast, the 4th episode of the series recorded a countrywide rating of 14.46. [8]
