Twin Lakes Township covers an area of 36.82 square miles (95.4 km 2) and contains one incorporated settlement, Rockwell City. Part of the census-designated place of Twin Lakes occupies the northeast portion of the township, surrounding South Twin Lake. According to the USGS, the township contains one cemetery, Twin Lakes.
Twin Lakes State Park is a 15-acre (6.1 ha) state park in Calhoun County, Iowa, United States, located near the city of Rockwell City.The park is composed of two areas on the eastern and western shores of the 453-acre (183 ha) North Twin Lake.
The CDP consists of lakefront communities surrounding two lakes, North Twin Lake and South Twin Lake. The lakes, which do not have a discernible surface outlet, are part of the North Raccoon River watershed, a tributary of the Des Moines River. Fish Farm Mounds State Preserve is a 3-acre (12,000 m 2) archaeological mound group containing Native American burials in the U.S. state of Iowa.It is located within the larger Fish Farms Mounds Wildlife area, a state owned hunting area a few miles south of New Albin, just inland from the Upper Mississippi River in Allamakee County.
