The southeast corner of the township touches the northwest corner of Lenawee County. U.S. Route 127 forms the eastern border of the township and leads north 9 miles (14 km) to Jackson, the county seat. Most of the township is drained by the Grand River, except for the westernmost part, which is drained by the North Branch of the Kalamazoo River.
The trunkline crosses the Kalamazoo River at Concord before it crosses into Jackson County. At Spring Arbor, M-60 passes the campus of Spring Arbor University. Outside of Jackson, the highway widens out to a full freeway bypass around the west side of the city. This bypass has one interchange with Michigan Avenue near Jackson County Airport.
M-106 is a state trunkline highway in the Lower Peninsula of the US state of Michigan in and near the city of Jackson. M-106 travels in a southwest-to-northeast direction from Jackson to Gregory at a junction with M-36 just a few miles northwest of Hell. The highway was first designated in 1928 running north out of downtown Jackson.
As the business loop approaches its parent highway, it transitions into a commercial area. The northern terminus of Bus. US 127 is at the same interchange northwest of Jackson in Blackman Township where the US 127 and I-94 freeways merge. [4] [5] Jackson was first bypassed on its eastern side around 1959 with a new US 127 freeway.
It is a big summer construction season for Stark County. Projects in 2024 include bridge replacements, road maintenance and a new roundabout, which will altogether cost an estimated $19 million.
The township is southeast of the center of Jackson County. U.S. Route 127 forms part of the western border, and state highway M-50 runs through the center of the township, connecting Napoleon village with Jackson, the county seat, 10 miles (16 km) to the northwest.
