Allendale is a former settlement in Alameda County, California now annexed to Oakland. [1] It was located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northeast of Fruitvale. [1] A post office opened in 1903 and by 1908 was a branch of the Oakland post office. [1] Allendale was named for Charles E. Allen, a real estate broker. [1]
