Bayleaf is an unincorporated community in Bartons Creek Township, Wake County, North Carolina, United States.It has an elevation of 427 ft. [1] The center of the community lies at the intersection of Six Forks Rd (SR 1005), Norwood Rd (SR 1834), Possum Track Rd (SR 2002), Bayleaf Church Rd (SR 2003), and Honeycutt Rd (SR 2005).
NC 98 first appeared in 1930 as a state route connecting NC 91 and NC 102 in the coastal region of North Carolina. That routing was abolished in 1931 in favor of an extended NC 58 . The current routing of NC 98 was established in 1934 with the road's western terminus at NC 91 (present-day Jones Dairy Road) to US 64 west of Spring Hope.
The site is divided into three districts by Six Forks Road and Lassiter Mills Road, known as Main District, Lassiter District, and Park District. Main District, lying south of Lassiter Mills Road and west of Six Forks Road is the site of the former North Hills Shopping Mall, and was the first to be redeveloped into the mixed-use development.

North Carolina Highway 19 (NC 19) was an original state highway that traversed from the South Carolina state line, near Tryon, through Columbus, Rutherfordton, Marion and Spruce Pine, to Bakersville.
