When my shrimp finishes the leg, I don’t feed a leg for one whole day but I do give him 1-2 asterina stars. Just wanted to know if anyone has kept these long term and if you ...

  3. How often does a harlequin shrimp need to be fed? | Reef2Reef

    www.reef2reef.com/threads/how-often-does-a-harlequin...

Make sure to keep them well fed and just snip like 1/4 of one leg off once a week and give it to the harlequin. If you continue this and rotate between 2-3 stars they shouldve grown the first leg back by the time you get there. You can also breed astrinas that same way. May 28, 2021. #3.

Currently the tank has one clown, dottyback, sunburst, gobby and shrimp and a foxface. There is also a peppermint shrimp. The melanurus was the most recent fish added and I ...

  5. Frozen Starfish For Harlequin Shrimp | Reef2Reef

Nathan. I'm not if freezing would kill the pathogens or make it dormant. I have an idea that idea sounds absurd but it could work. If you put it in the microwave for a minute or two it should kill all pathogens. I don't know if the shrimp would still eat it though. 9.

  6. Harlequin shrimp vs cleaner shrimp | REEF2REEF Saltwater and Reef...

    www.reef2reef.com/threads/harlequin-shrimp-vs-cleaner...

Shrimp don't play nice with each other generally. This is simply not true, especially in reference to harlequin shrimp. There are special cases, such as coral banded shrimp and pistol shrimp, which are indeed very aggressive, but other than that very few even interact with each other. I've seen a few people lately suggesting that cleaner shrimp ...

I feed my pair a whole CC once every three to four weeks. You can buy many CC's and cut legs off them and just cycle through them, giving them time to re grow there legs. I can usually tell when there hungry as well because they will come out of there cave and walk around the front of the tank. Feb 2, 2014. #11.

If the brittle star isn't getting enough to eat they wil eat there own leg s to keep from starving, mine has done it. I just try and give mine some pellet food once a week and a few small pieces of krill and his legs grow back. But no idea on shrimp eating them. Aug 3, 2010. #3.

  9. Harlequin Shrimp vs Flame Hawkfish? | REEF2REEF Saltwater and...

    www.reef2reef.com/threads/harlequin-shrimp-vs-flame...

So I finally got a Harlequin shrimp on order to tackle my Asterina issue. It has gotten better through manual removal, but as the tank is in my office and I don't really have night-time access to it, I can't really gauge for sure how bad it truly is. My issue is that I have a flame hawkfish in the tank, and I believe he has a history of killing ...

  10. cleaner shrimp and harlequin shrimp together? | Reef2Reef

    www.reef2reef.com/threads/cleaner-shrimp-and-harlequin...

We have 3 harlequin shrimp in a 100 gallon with a cleaner shrimp and everyone gets along. The harlequins don't fight - there is a pair that lives on one side and one loner that drifts around. We have enough asterina to keep them all happy. It seems like they've established some kind of equilibrium- we still have stars and the shrimp seem ...

  11. Harlequin shrimp compatible with a pistol shrimp and cleaner...

    www.reef2reef.com/threads/harlequin-shrimp-compatible-with...

If the cleaner shrimp is already with the pistol shrimp and hasn't bothered him, I doubt the pistol shrimp would bother the Harlequin. Also keep in mind, the harlequin may not even eat them. Hit or miss. It would also go through them rather quickly if it did eat them. Best way would be to get one of the stars and place it near so it knows they ...
