Apokoronas (Greek: Αποκόρωνας) is a municipality and a former province (επαρχία) in the Chania regional unit, north-west Crete, Greece. It is situated on the north coast of Crete, to the east of Chania itself. The seat of the municipality is the village Vryses. [2] The municipality has an area of 315.478 km 2 (121.807 sq mi). [3]

Kefalas (Greek: Κεφαλάς) is a over 800 years old village on the island of Crete, Greece, [2] 360 m above sea level. [3] It is in the Vamos municipal unit in the Apokoronas municipality. The community consists of the villages Kefalas, Drapanos and Palailoni.
Myron of Crete, called Saint Myron the Wonder Worker (Άγιος Μύρων ο Θαυματουργός), was a bishop from Rhaukos, Crete who became archbishop of Crete. He is said to have been born in Aurakia , near Knossos , [ 1 ] to have flourished during the reign of Decius (3rd century), [ 2 ] and have died in 350, at the age of 100 years.
