Formal garden alongside the Pearse Museum Watch tower in St Enda's Park. St Enda's Park (Irish: Páirc Naomh Éanna) is a mid-size public park in Rathfarnham, Dublin, Ireland. The park, which is approximately 20 hectares (49.4 acres) in size, contains the Pearse Museum and a café.
The house was built in the 18th century by the Southwell family and in 1787 was the residence of Irish politician and soldier William Southwell.. Throughout the following century it was occupied by the Ponsonbys, down to 1896 and later by Professor Stanley Lane-Poole, the author of a number of works on Oriental art and numismatics.
The dispersion of artefacts, through the sale of Irish country house contents, happened often with the destruction of Irish country houses (1919–1923). Later, post war sales and fires resulted in the destruction of further contents while large auction sales from the 1950s through to the mid 1990s resulted in the loss of further contents.
Rathfarnham (Irish: Ráth Fearnáin, meaning 'Fearnán's ringfort') is a southside suburb of Dublin, Ireland in County Dublin.It is south of Terenure, east of Templeogue, and is in the postal districts of Dublin 14 and 16.
Marlay Park is the official starting point [8] of the 132 km Wicklow Way a long-distance walking trail, that begins at the car park adjacent to Marlay House. The trail wanders through the park before tunnelling under the M50 motorway to begin its first ascent southwards towards the Dublin hills and the Wicklow Mountains to Clonegal, County Carlow.

The museum is situated in St. Enda's Park in the suburb of Rathfarnham on the south side of Dublin, Ireland. It was formerly an Irish speaking school named St. Enda's. Originally Pearse's school was set up in Ranelagh on 8 September 1908. It moved to Rathfarnham in 1910.
