Munnar (IPA: [muːn̪ːɐːr]) is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above mean sea level, [4] in the Western Ghats mountain range. Munnar is also called the "Kashmir of South India" and is a popular honeymoon destination.

Kanthalloor is a village in Devikulam taluk, Idukki district, Kerala. [3] [4] It is a village nestled in the Western Ghats of India.The salubrious climate and the picturesque landscapes and wide variety of tropical crops coupled with the close proximity to Munnar (a major hill station), has transformed this village into a tourist destination.
The museum is about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) from the Munnar town, situated in the Nalluthanni Estate. Aluva is the nearest railway station (112 kilometres (69.59 mi)); Cochin International Airport is about 72 kilometres (44.74 mi) away. On 21 January 1934, the foundation stone of a new church in Munnar was laid, and the present church was blessed on 17 April 1938, by Bonaventure Arana, OCD, the first bishop of Vijayapuram. On 5 February 1943, the Munnar community was raised to the status of a parish. The 125th anniversary of the church was celebrated in 2022.
This temple located on a small hill was worshipped by the Muthuvan tribal community in the past. Later it was closed for a long time. But seeing the pathetic condition, the temple was renovated by the members of Travancore royal family when they came to visit Munnar during the summer season.
The location of the dam is at a distance of 20 km (12 mi) from Munnar. [4] It is a major tourist destination near Munnar. Kundala dam is located on the way to Top Station. Tourist places like Pampadumchola National Park, Kurinjimalai Sanctuary and Meesappulimalai are close to this dam.
