Elm Creek Park Reserve, at 5,315 acres (2,151 ha), is the largest park reserve in the system and occupies portions of Maple Grove, Champlin and Dayton. It features 19 miles (31 km) of paved biking/hiking trails, 21 miles (34 km) of horse trails, and a 13-mile (21 km) mountain bike trail.
The Town of Maple Grove is located south of the center of Barron County. Maple Grove Township was first established on October 28, 1909. [3] It was set aside from the southern 36-square-mile (93 km 2) survey township area of Forest Township in the southeastern corner of Cheboygan County. [4] Although the township was created prior to the 1910 census, the new township went unreported in that decennial census.
