Haywards Heath Grammar School opened on 9 September 1958, [4] being run by East Sussex Education Committee with 800 boys and girls. It became a sixth form college. Haywards Heath College was established in 1980 and offered mainly courses for 16- to 18-year-old students following on from compulsory education.
Bridgend College (Welsh: Coleg Penybont) is a further education college based in Bridgend, Wales. Founded in 1928 as the Bridgend Mining and Technical Institute, [ 1 ] the college today has four campuses in Bridgend, Pencoed , Queens Road and Maesteg .

The school opened on 3 September 2008 on the site of the former Maesteg Comprehensive Upper School in Llangynwyd. It is the only secondary school in the borough of Bridgend to use the Welsh language as the primary medium of education. As of 2023, there were a total of 712 pupils on roll at the school, with 111 in the sixth form. [1]

As pupil numbers continued to grow a new 15 acre site was identified off Ewenny Road and a new school (renamed Bridgend Grammar School for Boys in 1945) was built and opened in 1935 at the cost of £25,000 (almost £1.8 million in 2020). The school was built on the site of Brynteg House.
