   They don't change allocated memory. Java does it automatically. The Apex support is correct because they only have a toggle though java flags on whether java should allocate all the memory before it runs or whether java should only allocate memory as it needs it. You still have access to all your memory. This isn't going to cause lag.

   We just switched from Apex to Bisect Hosting because we can get an extra gigabyte of ram for a little under the price we had, which probably won't really be a problem if you don't got lots of mods like us. But Apex was really good, the support responded in less than 10 seconds each time, and the UI was easy to use.

   I use Apex Hosting for my friends&family server and I've never had an issue with it, but I've not tried running packs that need a lot of ram.     Especially for how big Apex is, this is simply frustrating. I'm a Linux user, and though terminal can seem scary for many at first; I'm so glad I use Linode with a bear bones Debian 11 install and sftp in to download things, or simply ssh in and manage the server as needed. I reached out to Apex regarding this, and I plan to update on what I hear.
