The latest Los Angeles County wildfire, dubbed the Hughes Fire, began as a brush fire Wednesday a little before 11 a.m. before spreading to over 8,000 acres by around 4 p.m. local time.
The fire began near Moreno Valley in California at around 3:30 PM PT on July 14, 2023. As of July 16, 2023, the fire had burned 7,600 acres (3,100 ha) and was 35% contained. [1] [2] Eight days later, on July 22, the fire was 100% contained, with its final acreage being 8,283 acres (3,352 ha).
