Brazoria is located southwest of the center of Brazoria County. The northeastern edge of the community, known as Old Brazoria, is located along the Brazos River. Texas State Highway 36 runs through the center of the city, leading southeast 16 miles (26 km) to Freeport and northwest 41 miles (66 km) to Rosenberg.

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office is the oldest law enforcement agency in the State of Texas, established by the Republic of Texas in March 1836. Among its duties include running the Brazoria County Jail, located at 3602 County Road 45 in unincorporated central Brazoria County, north of Angleton.
He was in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, and was thereafter again a Judge of the Brazoria County Court and a probate judge from 1865 to 1866. He was a Judge of the Texas District Court for Brazoria and Galveston Counties from 1871 to 1876.
In August 1976, the Facts moved its headquarters from Freeport to neighboring Clute, Texas where it remains today. [2] It absorbed employees from the competitor Angleton Times in 2004, [4] along with the publication's reader list. [5] The former Angleton Times office became the Angleton office of the Brazosport Facts.
