The 14 trunk line routes of the original state highway system of Connecticut. In 1900, the State Highway Department proposed a statewide system of trunk line routes. By 1913, the system consisted of 10 north-south highways and 4 east-west highways, including the lower Boston Post Road. The system covered roughly 1,400 miles (2,300 km).

Deep River Center is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the primary village in the town of Deep River, Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States.It is in the east-central part of the town, bordered to the north by the town of Chester, to the south by the town of Essex, to the east by Pratt Cove, and to the northeast by the Connecticut River.
Most of Connecticut's rivers flow into Long Island Sound and from there the waters mix into the Atlantic Ocean. A few extremely eastern rivers flow into Block Island Sound .
