Hi, Kathy K, these are lesions that look darker than the rest of the liver tissue . They are usually caused by : 1-liver cysts or fluid filled sacs in the liver. or. 2-liver adenomas ( this is a benign liver mass) If you like the answer, click accept .
This was seen on the MRI. My first test the cat scan showed 8.4 mm lesion on liver. The right lobe of my liver is enlarged to 20.9 cm. also I have a 4mm nonobstructive calculus in the lower pole of my left kidney. My left ovarian vein is dialated at 9mm in size. These sort of lesions are often seen in benign conditions but can also be seen in abscesses of the liver in initial stages. Some hemangiomas can also appear ill defined and hypodense on non contrast CT scans. You will need further work up on this and will need to see a hepatologist/ liver specialist if you have not already.
