Moosalamoo National Recreation Area is one of two national recreation areas in the Green Mountain National Forest in the U.S. state of Vermont. The recreation area is located between Middlebury and Brandon in the northern half of the Green Mountain National Forest. The area consists of 15,875 acres (6,424 ha) surrounding Mount Moosalamoo. [1]
The forest also includes three alpine ski areas, seven Nordic ski areas, and approximately 900 mi (1,400 km) of multiple-use trails for hiking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and bicycling. [5] The forest benefited from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009.

Burke Mountain Resort has 55 ski trails and 15 glades with 270 acres (110 ha) skiable of terrain and over 100 acres (40 ha) of glades. Among the 55 trails, 11% are designated "Green Circle" (Beginner trails), 47% are "Blue Square" (Intermediate), 33% are "Black Diamond" (Advanced), and 9% are "Double Black Diamond" (Expert).
