The Diocese of Jackson is a Latin Church diocese in Mississippi in the United States. Its ecclesiastical jurisdiction includes the northern and central parts of the state, an area of 97,458 square kilometers (37,629 sq mi). It is the largest diocese, by area, east of the Mississippi River.
The pastor of any particular church other than an ordinariate must be episcopally ordained, but his title conforms to that of his jurisdiction: the pastor of an archdiocese is an archbishop, the pastor of a diocese is a bishop, the pastor of an archeparchy is an archeparch, the pastor of an eparchy is an eparch, and the pastor of an exarchate is an exarch.

Kopacz was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Scranton on May 7, 1977, at St. Peter's Cathedral in Scranton by Bishop Joseph McCormick. [5]After his ordination, the diocese assigned Kopacz as parochial vicar of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania, and Epiphany Parish in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
The Diocese of Natchez-Jackson was changed to the Diocese of Jackson on March 1, 1977, with Brunini remaining as its bishop. [4] After sixteen years as Bishop of Jackson, Brunini retired on January 24, 1984. [4] Joseph Brunini died while attending a conference in Convent, Louisiana, on January 7, 1996, at age 86. [5]
