    The solution to fixing dimension errors depends on severity. For very small difference, loosen the fastener and check again. Make sure the fence clamps and rail cant' move. If it moves, then you need to get some shim stock and put it under the rail while tightening the fastener to make things flat.

I have rarely done this, but I have moved the fence uncomfortably close to the blade, in which case I installed the SF.

I've had numerous situations where I had a router all set up and needed to rip another piece of stock because of a tear out, etc.

The default fence is aluminum though, which I'm 99.9% sure my SawStop is specifically designed to engage the brake the moment it comes in contact with it. Anyone SawStop owners using the aluminum fence as is (maybe I'm missing something).
