With the advent of giant humanoid beings known as "Titans" that hunt and eat humans on sight, mankind quickly dwindles in numbers and its territory is reduced to a small country protected by three massive walls: Wall Maria, Wall Rose and Wall Sheena that kept the Titans outside for a hundred years, until a Colossal Titan (and an Armored one) breach the fortified city of Shiganshina.
The story follows the adventures of Eren Yeager, and his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, whose lives are changed forever after the Colossal Titan breaches the wall of their home town. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren and his friends join the Scout Regiment, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans.
The Scouts implement their plan. They ram the Titan's hands with gunpowder-loaded carts, destroying them with the explosion. After the Titan slumps over the Wall, Eren assumes his Titan form and plunges sacks of gunpowder barrels into its mouth. The Titan explodes from within and the Scouts slice through the airborne fragments.
