On July 6, 2021, Nintendo officially announced a new model called the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model. The OLED model features a 7-inch (180 mm) 720p OLED display, and when docked, output to 1080p resolution similar to the original model.
The Switch OLED is a minor upgrade to the existing Switch hardware, not a new system. It has a bigger 7-inch screen (the original screen is 6.2-inches) that uses OLED instead of LCD technology.
A second variation, the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, was released in 2021, which makes several adjustments and improvements over the original, including an improved kickstand, a larger OLED screen, and more storage (64 GB instead of the regular 32 GB present in the original Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite).
