Century City is a 176-acre (71.2 ha) neighborhood and business district in Los Angeles, California, United States.Located on the Westside to the south of Santa Monica Boulevard around 10 miles (16 km) west of downtown Los Angeles, Century City is one of the most prominent employment centers in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and its skyscrapers form a distinctive skyline on the city's westside.
Like most of Century City, the land on which this avenue was built was originally part of a ranch owned by cowboy actor Tom Mix (1880–1960). [2] Later, the land became the backlot of 20th Century Fox. [2] It was later sold to Alcoa, which hired real estate developer William Zeckendorf (1905–1976) to develop Century City. [2]
The Century Plaza Towers are two 44-story, 571-foot (174 m) twin towers in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. They are the tallest buildings in California outside Downtown Los Angeles and San Francisco. Commissioned by Alcoa, the towers were designed by Minoru Yamasaki and completed in 1975. [6]

Constellation Place was constructed from 2001 to 2003. It is the 26th-tallest building in Los Angeles, and the fifth-tallest in Century City. It was the first high-rise to be completed in the 21st century in Los Angeles. The building was designed by Johnson Fain Partners, and has 700,000 sq ft (65,000 m 2) of Class A office space.
In 1965, the Century Freeway was added to the state system originated at State Route 1 (Sepulveda Boulevard) east to Central Avenue in the City of Los Angeles along an alignment very near to the current right-of-way. [11] The current route was added to the Interstate system in 1968.
