Aya Hirano (平野 綾, Hirano Aya, born October 8, 1987) is a Japanese actress and singer. Beginning in the entertainment industry as a child actor in television commercials, she appeared in her first voice acting role in the anime television series Angel Tales (2001).
Both of her voice actresses for the animated version, Aya Hirano for the Japanese version and Wendee Lee for the English version, are in fact the same people who voiced Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime; other voice actors from the same series make guest appearances during the course of Lucky Star.
Aya Hirano (pictured in 2019), the voice actress of Haruhi Suzumiya, was one of the performers of the song. "Hare Hare Yukai" is the ending theme song from the 2006 anime series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (the animated adaptation of the first book and several short stories in the Haruhi Suzumiya series by Nagaru Tanigawa).
Aya Hirano (left) provided the voice for Haruhi in the sub, while Wendee Lee (right) provided the voice for the character in the English dub. Aya Hirano voices Haruhi's character in all her appearances in the anime series, the 2010 film The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya , and the later spin-off series and video games.
The popularity of the series made Aya Hirano one of the earliest examples of the "idol voice actor" crossover in the late 2000s. [91] Haruhi, Yuki, and Mikuru (voiced by Aya Hirano, Minori Chihara, and Yūko Gotō), along with Japanese drama actor Toma Ikuta, made their first Japanese ad appearance in promoting Lotte Acuo Gum in March 2010.
