This list of flagpoles by height includes completed flagpoles which are either free–standing or supported, excluding the height of any pedestal (plinth), building, or other base platform which may elevate them. Due to the list's incomplete nature, flagpoles shorter than 120 m (390 ft) are not ranked.
The flagpole was built by the Turkish construction company Polimeks. [2] The ceremonial raising of the flag on 29 June 2008 was attended by members of the Turkmen government, representatives of public organisations, the media, and the people. [4] Despite the flagpole's height, it is not the tallest structure in Ashgabat.
The current tallest flagpole in India is the 110-metre (360 ft) flagpole in Belgaum, Karnataka which was first hoisted on 12 March 2018. [9] [10] The tallest flagpole in the United Kingdom from 1959 until 2007 stood in Kew Gardens. It was made from a Canadian Douglas-fir tree and was 68.5 m (225 ft) in height. [11]
Tamiya entered the 1/72 market rather late by releasing its first kit in 1993 (see kit 60701). [23] However, this was a reboxed version of Italeri's F-16 and it would take until 2014 to design their own version of this jet (see kit 60786). Tamiya quickly got a large product line in this scale by reboxing more than 30 Italeri kits.
The Cairo Flagpole is the world's tallest flagpole, at 201.952 m (662 ft 7 in) tall. Located in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt, it was erected on the 26 December, 2021. [1] The flagpole was constructed by the Gharably Integrated Engineering Company in Egypt. [1] It weighs 1,040 tons and flies a 60 x 40 m (197 x 131 ft) flag. [2]
The Flagpole of Freedom was projected to be the tallest flagpole in the world, surpassing, by seven feet, [5] the height of the Empire State Building. Plans called for the pole to fly "the largest American flag in the world at over 74,048 square feet — the equivalent area of almost 1 1/2 football fields."
