Reynaldo Valera Guardiano, better known as Rey Valera (Tagalog: [reɪ bɐˈlɛɾa]; born 4 May 1954), is a Filipino singer, songwriter, music director, film scorer and television host. He wrote and produced songs that were recorded by various singers, most notably Sharon Cuneta .

The title of the series was derived from the song, "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo", which was originally sung by Rey Valera and covered by Gary Valenciano for the show. Other songs featured on the show are "Lapit" (lit. ' "Come" ') by Yeng Constantino and "Pagka't Mahal Kita" (lit. ' "Because I Love You" ') by Bugoy Drilon.
